The Singapore Mental Health Survey (2012), a national survey, found that 1 in 8 people in Singapore will suffer from an episode of Depression, Anxiety Disorder (like Obssessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), other mood disorders and alcohol use disorder.
This finding suggests that 330,200 adults will have one mental disorder once in their lifetime. Given that our population has increased rapidly, this number is expected to increase substantially.
